Fluffy’s Holiday Plans

Cats are very much creatures of habit. If you pay close attention, you’ll see that Fluffy follows a pretty strict schedule for naps, meals, playtime, grooming sessions, and kitty meditation. Our feline pals also have some annual traditions that they like to follow. Read on to learn a few things your veterinarians in Rochester, NY have to share about kitties’ favorite seasonal activities.

Steal Boxes

Our feline friends have some very adorable quirks, such as their love of boxes. Your furball won’t be able to resist hopping into gift boxes and bags. She may also try to ‘assist’ as you are wrapping gifts, decorating, and cooking. Give your kitty a new toy to occupy herself with.

Attack The Tree

Fluffy is super frisky, which is one of her most adorable traits. However, your furry friend will likely be very interested in that beautiful holiday tree. Uh oh! There are some ways for you to increase the odds of your tree staying upright. One option is to secure the top to the wall or ceiling, using fishing line. Also, keep your tiny ball of mischief in mind when decorating the tree. Put just a few unbreakable ornaments on the bottom part of the tree. Keep tinsel, garlands, lights, and anything breakable on the upper branches, well out of paws’ reach.

Enjoy Some Gifts

Don’t forget to pick up a few things for Fluffy! Toys and treats are always great gifts. You can also get your kitty a new bed, or perhaps some furniture. As mentioned above, cats are very fascinated with boxes. Let your cute pet have some of the empty ones after everyone has opened their gifts.

Savor A Snack

Food is a huge part of many holiday celebrations. Give your furry buddy something special! A can of plain tuna, crab, or chicken is fine.

Lap Warming Sessions

Kitties are just the purrfect size to fit into our laps. Many of our feline pals are super cuddly, and love to snuggle up with their humans. Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle, and enjoy some downtime with Fluffy. Settling in with a purring cat and a great movie is a great way to spend a quiet December night.
